Yeah, the $200,000 condo I bought in San Fran in 1997 recently was appraised for a refi at $635,000 — and you *know* that’s conservative these days. Problem is, where’m I going to go where the weather’s cool and foggy during summer? Thanks to Prop. 13 (big thumbs up), my property taxes are pretty damn low and my mortgage is less than the rental value of my place, so I’m content. I do wish I had a garage, but it’s not that bad.
