i grew up being the boy who caught shit from the other kids since i could never get myself interested in watching ball games on tee vee

despite this i had a thorough training in softball, touch football, basketball etc since you cant avoid it as a male in this country and besides for ten years i went to summer camps where we played softball twice a day for two months

then when i grew up i found not only was it dangerous to admit you had no interest in sports, but in addition admitting you were an - gasp! - atheist is even more dangerous

that’s why im careful to stay within the confines of places like berkeley where a person can live a perfectly normal abnormal life without ever being asked “hey what about them niners?”
