I never want to count chickens - but my hope is that in response to a Romney loss, Ryan and other Republicans will continue to think that a successful electoral advantage can be gained by pandering to extremists.

If we’re using words like ‘hope’ rather than ‘expect’, I hope that in response to a Romney loss, the GOP throws out their loons and whatever is left becomes a successful, rational party that can provide a reasonable alternative to the Democrats.
