Killgore -

It looks like the Washington Post has become part of the vast right wing conspiracy mill on the issue of planted questions at the press conference:

This is a breakdown of the relationship between the media and the White House. The press have been co opted into becoming “part of the team” to “get the message out.”

They no longer see the job as to investigate, scrutinize and inform - their job now is to educate dullards like me - the dullards who fail to see Obama as a sort of political savior for this country.

Anyway - there it is. A WaPo columnist indulging in a “right wing conspiracy theory” that is certain to undermine his credibility …

Just as I noted yesterday, here is a perfect example of the myth of left-wing bias in the media—that is taken as an article of Bible-thumping faith among the hard right—being promoted, ironically, by a specious “scandal-story” invented by some of the media for gullible right-wing consumption.

These—how should I say—not too sharp cutting utensils in the kitchen drawer who leap to accept the idea that the President “obviously” knew the question beforehand are missing a few actually-obvious things. The Politico-hack and other media inventing a story here are obviously jealous that a lowly “internet reporter” gets to pre-empt them and ask the President a question someone from Iran had—on the basis of the solid reporting he’s been doing that they haven’t. The Politico piece for example noted the—to the non-green-eyed journalist population— rather trivial point that Nico Pitney came second, before Reuters, when Reuters is “supposed” to come second. Really, who cares except petty, jealous hack-reporters.
