When you run a blog on your own Web site, you can fiddle with the design — how it appears. But when you have one of those “free” blogs, hosted by Blogger or WordPress or whatever, you choose a “theme”, which is a preset design for how it looks, and that’s it — you’re stuck with that theme. There’s no real way to fiddle with the details, such as how big the text appears, what the headlines are like, etc. etc.

Well, I just figured out a way to bypass that restriction, and change the appearance of any free blog theme. It’s an annoying problem that’s been frustrating me (and a billion other people) for years!

I’d recommend Kelby training.com or similar for those who want to avoid the off the shelf blog look. Doesn’t take long to get the web design skills you need and it’s not too expensive either.
