Do they try to pick your brain for ideas?

All of the time. The best part is when they ask for my drawings, so they can “study” them before making a decision. That means,

“Hey! Thanks for coming out and designing our kitchen for free. Now we’re going to take this the “Home Depot” and price it out with them and install it ourselves! Really, you’re a swell guy! You’ve been very informative!”

Then I get to my very favorite part of that appointment. I say, “Absolutely not!”

They ask me what I am going to do with my drawings. I say, “Shred them.”

Then I smile.
