I would say that the USA is different that Europe when it comes to assimilation.

One of the differences is size. You can drive across most, if not all, EU countries in the time it takes to drive the length of Florida. I think that has an effect on how people settle and assimilate.

I do however have reservations about Muslims ever assimilating for the simple reason that their religion has too many conflicts with our constitutional principles. The Koran will always come first.

That doesn’t have to be a problem if the numbers are relatively small, but if they start to feel they have enough sway they will start to demand special rights, just as they do in Europe.
