Hanan Ashrawi was being interviewed by Geraldo last night, and ran quickly through most of the conventional arguments in favor of Israel not taking any action against Hamas. The one that really stood out as a stretch was that the West should respect ‘democracy’ by stopping Israel, because the people of Gaza had voted for Hamas.

The Middle East should respect democracy by letting the Palis suffer for what they voted for.
