OT: Heard something last night or the night before that has me scratching my head. I thought perhaps someone here might be able to elucidate for me. I heard a talking head discussing the actual transition in the White House, who moves out and when, when the new people come in etc. They began discussing the “football,” and the guy said that the “football” is transfered to the incoming President the night before the inauguration. It seems to me that ALL of the power of the President would have to be transferred then if the incoming President has the codes. Is the inauguration just show then? Does the real transfer of power happen the day before?
