When the bike industry decided to try to appeal to more women as customers, they quit using boob-showing women in the trade show booths and started to hire women in actual full-time jobs in their companies.

It’s super lame and pretty insulting to the attendees. An old school, madison ave boys club advertising technique that just assumes that it’s not only mostly men making the purchasing decisions, but that they’re fucking idiotic dogs who care more about pussy than being professionals in their field and making smart business decisions.

This isn’t the fucking 1950’s / 60’s, every conventioneer going to Vegas isn’t there to get drunk and screw around. At least the Photo Marketing Association gigs haven’t been like this for a long time, probably because the industry has had so much representation by women and gay men for so long. Also, there’s an element of don’t con a con man going on, people who make a living in visual advertising and image manipulation are going to see right through that shit.
