BTW - if you’re not familiar with Bellingcat, they’re an outfit made up of data geeks & investigative journalists who try to peel away the layers around online disinformation, brainwashing, conspiracy theories and right-wing hate.

Some journalists dislike Bellingcat because they will pay sources. In particular, Bellingcat’s work on tracing Navalny’s poisoners was accomplished by paying for access to some Russian databases. This is apparently a bridge too far for someone.
