re: #106 A Mom Anon

Sigh. That made me so sad. I was born in Lancaster. It used to be a really strong union town, lots of small manufacturing jobs. My grandma worked for Anchor Hocking there for nearly 40 yrs. My other grandma worked in the Drew Shoes factory for nearly the same amount of time. One grandpa worked as a truck driver for Grainger, the other was an electrician, all in unions, all able to live comfortably after retirement. All made good salaries, raised a total of 12 kids, had nice homes and cars. That area is devastated now, because the companies that got successful off those workers weren’t loyal to them, not like the workers were to the companies. And they keep voting against their best interest over crap like race and social issues.

Racism still runs deep in the Buckeye state.
