When I read the word “studies show…” I reach for my revolver.

The latest one claims that men getting blood tests for prostate cancer is a bad idea, because if it’s the kind of cancer that shouldn’t or can’t be treated it just scares the poor guys for no reason.

How they would know what kind it is if they don’t detect it in the first place is not explained.

Science!

With regard to prostate cancer, when they say “shouldn’t be treated,” they probably mean is it shouldn’t be treated if the patient is of advanced age. The theory being one needs die of something and the treatment may very well kill the patient.
