OK, this calls for a poll again:

In a theoretical matchup of 2012 races of Obama against various potential Republican opponents, how would you vote in the following races, if in fact each of the following Republicans got the nomination:

Q: If faced with each of the following choices on the 2012 ticket, how would you vote?

1. Obama vs Romney

2. Obama vs. Giuliani

3. Obama vs. Palin

4. Obama vs. Jindal

This is NOT a question about how likely each Republican is to get the nomination. This is a theoretical question about who you would vote in each putative scenario, granting that the Republican candidate in question indeed already got the nomination in 2012.

In each case, you can also answer “I’d refuse to vote” or “I’d vote for a third-party candidate.”
