My question is, if this new Star Trek is as great as all the hoopla makes it out to be, how come they didn’t release it after Memorial Day- during the height of summer blockbuster release season?

What they’re trying to do with the new Star Trek movie is to reboot the franchise, bring it up to date, make it more interesting to those who have never given Star Trek a second thought, and bring more fans and more potential into it.

It’s kind of akin to what the James Bond people were trying to do with the recent “Casino Royale”.
