The most frustrating thing I encounter with many from the religious “Right” is their professed love for individual liberty, limited government, and Capitalism on the one hand and spurts of willful ignorance, smutty or nasty innuendo and bigotry on the other. I ask myself, have these people done any amount of introspection in their lives? I’m talking about just every now and then checking one’s principles and derivatives for logical consistency. At some point in time make the choice either to become rational, benevolent advocates for individual liberty, limited government, and Capitalism, or support hanging witches, imprisoning gays, imprisoning women for having abortions, and demand the teaching of Biblical gobbledeegook in the science class. They should just be consistent. I don’t want to have to be shaking their hand one day and spitting in their eyes the next making us ~both~ out to have Jekyll and hyde personalities.
