Reid Says He’d Take Up A Vote On 20-Week Abortion Ban

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said Sunday he would allow a vote on the Senate floor on a bill that would ban abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy, but emphasized that such “fringe issues” should not be the focus of Congress.

“It’s the Senate, we’ll take it up,” Reid said on NBC’s Meet The Press, adding, “I think we should deal with the problems that affect this country. We need to do something to help the working class and stop worrying about fringe issues.”
