Continuing on the tornado topic from upstairs: My parents reported that the first tornado followed almost exactly the same path as the one in November 2013 that devastated the city. Bum luck with tornadoes, they tend to be creatures of habit.

They tend to follow geography. If you get out a topographical map of the area, I’ll bet you’ll find hills and ridgelines, even if relatively small, channelling them the direction they follow. My family farm watched several tornados look like they were coming right at us in the 70’s but the hill we were on always caused them to jump past us rather than destroy everything.
