Believe it or not, one of the other things that I’ve heard presented a “Proof” regarding Norquest is that “He has a beard, and Muslims have beards, so he’s one”. (by that measue, I must be a mid-grade Imam)

The funny part is that having a beard isn’t even Shariah, it’s Sunnah. In a nutshell, that means it’s something done because Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) did it and he’s considered and exemplar. There are no legal mandates in Islam saying men MUST grow beards.

Same with hijab. There are no legal directives stating that a woman MUST wear hijab Likewise, there are no Islamic laws laying out punishment for NOT wearing it, though there are countries (like Iran) which have legally mandated it for their own reasons, whatever those may be.
