I’d just like to get to a place where we could quit having to tread quite so carefully-not because we don’t care what people think, but because it truly doesn’t matter. I’m not holding my breath for that moment when we all hold hands and respect one another as individuals, regardless of race, religion or national origin though.

I just wish people could see why something like that would bother people. Like I said, Herring and his friends seem to have been dressing as a very specific group of rappers. I think dying their face black was definitely in poor taste but I think it’s not as offensive if they had went as rappers and went as an exaggerated racial caricature of what a black rapper is. As for Asians or brunettes going blonde for Dolly, not a problem either, Dolly’s blonde hair is part of who she is.
