Quite frankly, fallout is not that big a deal. Greater risk of cancers, yes—but the Japanese managed to live through it before we even really knew about it.

Think of 9/11 x 100, if in one city; multiply that by the number of cities.

It’s the fear factor, not the fallout that’s the issue. People would be scared shitless for weeks afterward. Months.
