I had a nun in 6th grade that was very specific in this point. I blame her for most of my pet peeves.

My latin is very rusty, but the prefix “con” has something to do with it. “sensus” or “sentio” if IIRC, means thought or feeling. Lizard Latin Scholars, help me out here. I think “conspiracy” is one of the derivatives.
