In this case I don’t even think Walter is even suggesting we judge faith.

Basically, we have some translated Bronze Age texts. These texts attempt to describe the planet, solar system, etc. They make very specific claims. Many if not all of these claims have been disproved. This is all fact. What you choose to do with these texts, and the knowledge of the errors contained in them is entirely up to you.

I choose not to base my worldview around texts with such (in my opinion) profound errors. Others here clearly do not have these same issues as me. However,I don’t think anyone can refute that the errors exist.

You’re spot on in describing what I am saying. I hear the argument over and over that science can’t prove (or disprove) G-d. And I basically agree with that. But that same science can show numerous flaws in the foundational material that has informed most people of the existence of G-d.

So, science may not be able to disprove G-d, but it may be able to disprove the origins of that concept.
