I just looked it up on Wikipedia, and apparently Dr. King WAS born Michael King (no Luther) and named after his father. His father changed both of their names when he was young in honor of Martin Luther. I don’t know why this man would keep referring to him as Michael Luther King other than to belittle him and equate him with Obama, because he’s black and they also think he forged his birth certificate and thus they’re both in some way “illegitimate.”

I think it’s akin to the obsession with calling Charles ‘Chuck’.
