re: #40 Reality Based Steve

Heard an interesting discussion on NPR this morning on my way to the shop. Basically it was that the Freedom Caucus, along with the rest of the extreme right wing of the party (because in my heart I do believe that there can be moderate republicans) are making the entire party so dysfunctional that it’s very possible that it will end up splitting into two separate parties soon.

I’ll make this prediction, safe that nobody will dredge it up in the future, that if the GOP loses the presidential election this time around, the party will split. The Tea Party will run off and what will come out of it as the GOP will be a center-right party.

Of course if it does happen, I’ll dredge this post up and wave it around.

I happen to disagree. The tea Party needs the GOP moderate. Without them, they are out on the fringe. Conversely, without the Teabaggers, the Moderate wing is also out on the fringe. It’s a marriage of convenience.
