Wouldn’t characterize him just as gospel any longer, he’s done lots of mainstream black productions. He has lots of money and power in his space. But church-centric is where he started and it is his strong base. Lots of folks I know were pretty pissed at his decision to jump out in support of this fraudster. I’ve given Perry the side-eye for a while tho.
