re: #109 ckkatz

Heh, much of the movie was filmed in Pittsburgh.

I actually got to watch part of the scene (starting around 4:09) get filmed. It was filmed at the rear of the Oakland branch of the Carnegie Library. I was a grad student at the time and would walk around to try and wake up after hours at the computer.

Iirc, that one scene took two days to film. The director had Beales do just about every combination of walk, run, hop, etc down the stairs and go to the car.

Amusing factoid…

The male actor was really uncomfortable with his supposed pet dog. So they had the dog handler hidden (folded up) in the back of the sports car. And they had to take a break every once in a while to let the handler get out of the back of the car and stretch.

Hah! As someone who’s not really a dog person, I sympathize with the actor. That said, the handler’s place would have sucked too. Still, that work was worth the effort even if so much of the movie was “eh”.
