Until recently, I would have immediately agreed that the problem is poor PR on Israel’s part. However, the paroxysms of knee-jerk anti-Israel responses and commentary from governments (including, unfortunately, my own in the U.S.), the media and other institutions even in the face of clear evidence and fact, have caused me to reassess that view. I now believe that this is not a PR problem but, rather, that the world is reverting to its historical norm of Jew-hatred and that the half-century or so after the end of World War II, during which it was not fashionable to be openly anti-Semitic, may historically be viewed as only a deviation from the norm.
