It helps when the Civil War is as brutal as it was. Syria is still less than a fifth as deadly as Libya.

I will probably take a few years to restore things in many parts of the country, and the massive destruction in Misrata and Zawiyah could take more than a decade to rebuild, and billions of dollars.
