Well, with seeing how the 0bama administration is going along with the Durban II anti-Israel and anti-Jew hatefest, I might be more cynical than usual.
And despite the State Dept protests, other sources say the US representatives did absolutely nothing; no protests when worse language was added.
I guess 0bama was listening to Rev. Wright say how bad Israel and the Jews are, after all.

Interesting times indeed. In “Hannah & Her Sisters”, Max von Sydow’s character responded to the question of how could the Holocaust have happened with, “I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often.”

A pitfall of history is to somehow explain as anomalous any catastrophic event such as the Holocaust. The overly simplistic way of looking at it is that Hitler was evil incarnate, as though the Third Reich was some fluke or aberration of history that cannot happen again. Unfortunately, human nature has not changed, either in the actions we commit or in the way we look at the past.

The movie “Downfall” was criticized for “humanizing” Hitler. I think we need to look at Hitler as a human being. The Holocaust was perpetrated by human beings. And human beings will repeat their sins—if they think that their prior sins were due to some external force. The fault is not in our stars—-it is in ourselves.
