These are the last two lines of the NYT article. Only they could print this with a straight face.

Sure enough the NYT prints these lines with a straight face. They are liberals who constantly feel oppressed. This sentence

“… and you must be able to do it without fear of such intervention and retaliation.”

is perfect proof of their mindset. They are righteous and feel the need to enforce their ‘knowledge’ onto everyone. As many people don’t share their point of view these liberals are in desperate need of an explanation. Thus they conclude that some nefarious groups (read: government or ‘fascist’ republicans) are oppressing them i.e. their opinions are being stifled.
