So they were handing out toy red and blue “hard”hats. That jerk who wanted to fight the guy he mistook for a Muslim because his hat looked like a kufi wanted to be mistaken for a guy who works hard on construction sites. Adopting the hardhat as a racist symbol will disgust me, and it looks like that’s what’s happening.
Even though the guy whose hat looked like a kufi actually *is* a guy who’s currently working on the *actual* Ground Zero site.
Any lit majors to tell me if that’s a classic example of irony, or am I using the term wrong?
