OK, I’ll be the guy to risks the downdings…
I have no problem with Mourdock’s position as he stated it, as a matter of faith. He didn’t come across as arrogant about it, and admitted he struggled to reach that eventual position. That’s as much as I expect from anyone on issues like this, and is a far cry from Akin’s ugliness.
The problem is not his faith, it’s his willingness to legislate based on it. That’s the line that shouldn’t be crossed.
