That is a good question. I don’t really have an answer. The Republicans won’t fight if it means getting down into the mud. The Democrats have no such reservations. I think back to the 2000 election, where Gore had thousands of military votes cast out while he was screaming “Let every vote count”. The hypocracy is so dense it is in danger of collapsing into a black hole of color, and the Republicans let him get away with it.

There’s no real excuse for it. The Republican Party has failed its members, its candidates, and the Union as a whole. It may be too late to turn things around. Obama takes office in what, fourteen days?

I think I heard something like this from George Will — Democrats believe in Government with a passion and will do anything for it. Republicans feel Government is a necessary evil and only do the minimum they can tolerate.
