Sorry, I can’t speak for what’s in his head any more than I can yours. So far, he’s stood up to the courts about terrorist pictures and interrogations and supported many Bush policies. I can tell you, the far left is disappointed.

The far Left is his base. Once he loses that it’s all downhill from there. Just as when Bush lost his far Right base because he spent like a Lefty.

Once the base turns on you, you either have to reinvent yourself and change your positions…or suck it up and accept low approval ratings like Bush did.
