b) Someone attempts corrective measure
c) Corrective measure draws criticism and attacks from same offenders
d) Corrective measure should never have been tried.

therefore… .

e) No one should try corrective measures.

Alternative example:

a) Racism has occurred throughout the USA’s history
b) Someone attempts corrective measure (Martin Luther King)
c) Corrective measure draws criticism and attacks from same offenders (King killed)
d) Corrective measure should never have been tried (King should have left racists alone)

Do I have that right?

Here’s the problem with your analogy, reclaiming Pepe is frivolous at best. It accomplishes nothing beyond a meaningless and literally symbolic victory.
