Three NJ nuclear power plants on the Delaware are running at 80% power because ice is on the river and may cause damage to the intakes. The nuclear power plants take river water and use it to cool the turbines and it needs liquid water to make that happen. If the ice gets in, it can damage the impellers and other systems.
