I don’t think he thought any media organization would publish something with no on the record source, and no actual detailed allegations. However, you do point out a mistake that he might have made. I don’t see it as proof of guilt, but maybe a naive idea about the media.

Out of interest, is that officially solidified as the Conservative talking point regarding this, ie. ‘whatever the truth, Politico and the media/Democrat party are the real villains here’? I know that’s the line the Cain camp is pushing, but it seems at first glance that the cult media is souring a little, and Cain is not one of the demagogues of choice, so he doesn’t get to decide the appropriate talking point.

Let us know if it’s going to be that, or if we’re still waiting on a more concise character attack on the lady that came forward.
