That’s exactly how it went down when I had a heart attack last year. I really, really thought that was it. I faded away and thought I would never wake up. It wasn’t bad at all, some regret at leaving so soon, but no fear or trauma. The detached observer in me came to the fore. So this is what it’s like, I thought, I’ve always wondered.
I was amazed when I woke up a minute later; and profoundly happy: I felt like jumping off the table and dancing, hallelujah, another chance.
