Colorado Springs has many Evangelical Organizations, and is blood-red. In fact, this city is probably what keeps Colorado purple.

I was heavily bullied for criticizing Bush, and being more Liberal than those around me during High School. I dealt with it on my own with no friends. I got to hear constant gay-bashing, and bashing of non-christians. While at the same time talking about how they are persecuted and all other things. Looking back this had the effect of having me look and doubt the Trinity. In addition, while I stayed Liberal, I became more bitter and aggressive.

I’m sorry that happened to you. I know how it feels, since I suffered the slings and arrows of assholes throughout high school too.
