“While dealing w/ a bout of insomnia I caught the families show. I was prepared to see end to end trailers, possum stew, and children running around barefooted and snot-nosed. To my surprise I found an articulate, close-knit, conservative, religious family of well raised children. The older children are very responsible and respectful. They are not part of the ‘me, me, me / do my own thing’ generation. Both of the parents run various businesses to provide for their family. The older girls sew and the kids reuse things. They have a large beautiful house, yet the kids share rooms. The kids are home-schooled and they each play an instrument. Overall I think that they kids are well adjusted and loved. As a liberal / environmentalist, I had to ‘re-think’ my own bias and prejudice against those that are different than me. I think that people on this blog need to do the same.”
