Gun nut survivalists are pretty cagey about how much ammo they have on hand, though. This is unusual given their typical penchant for boasting about their gun oriented possessions. They are apparently afraid that you, or someone you tell, will try to steal it from them if the proverbial stuff hits the fan. Apparently they can foresee this exchange:

“Hey, Jim Bob, we’re getting low on ammo.”
“Well, hell, Clem, that sucks. What do we do if the hordes show up?”
“That reminds me of a question I been wanting to ask. How many gangs in a horde, or is it the other way around?”
“Glenn Beck never mentioned that so how would I know? Now would you try to stay on the subject, Clem. How are we gonna get more ammo?”
“Say, I got an idea, Jim Bob. This crazy sumbitch I used to work with has something like 100,000 round stashed in his bunker!”
“That’s it! You ain’t so dumb after all! Let’s go take it from him.”

It is disturbing how well this conversation exemplifies GOP ‘governance’. 2 vs 1 creates a power imbalance which justifies theft.
