I may be late, but I don’t think I saw an answer for you…so as one of the LGF art historians I must tell the tale.
It is just a small section of The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch from around 1500.
It is a very famous work of art because of the content and the religion/politics of it. People have been trying to figure out its meaning since that time…a real mind fucker. I think it is great just for that fact. 510+ years of messing with people’s heads. I think that would be the ultimate for an artist.
It is a three-panel triptych that can be closed like doors on an entryway. It even has a globe-like image on the closed panels.
Many different parts have been used for album covers.
