And all that money hasn’t done a thing to lower the cost of college for most people. I personally don’t think sports has a place in schools. It takes away a lot. Very few people are able to be athletic to the degree needed for sports. College is supposed to be about learning new things and skills for a career or a passion you want to pursue. What sports does is create a club for special people who many times don’t give a shit about learning. They are there because they get treated like they are bett er than everyone else and that shit starts as young as middle school. This is my opinion and your mileage may vary, but it was a stupid idea to tie sports to education. And a damned football coach is not more valuable than a teacher who has devoted their life to education.
