That’s now called “differently-reported”. Joking aside, it’s often not important that government stats measure their subject with high accuracy, as long as the measurements are made consistently through time. (Used to say “It’s OK if the number is wrong, as long as it’s wrong the same way every time.”)
Strangely enough, that makes sense. Kinda like speedometers on old cars.
