Second, AFAICT, the hunt was legal. He didn’t poach him.
It appears they used bait to lure the animal out of the preserve and based on that there is a case to be made that they were poaching. Further they used a bow to kill the lion so that it was a silent kill. Apparently using a bow is common practice for poachers so they do not draw attention to themselves.
I used to hunt (still would like to) and do fish. I do not get the thrill of trophy/sport hunting. If you can’t/won’t eat it and it’s not a threat to you then why kill it?
