I would have never thought about that. My light quit on ours long ago but it’s the switch and expensive to replace by way of labor. We put up with not having the light at all. So opening the door as it may make the compressor/heat exchange start working is okay? Because indirectly?

My dryer door is held closed by duct tape. It’s a $6 part that costs $150 to install.

I doubt I’ll spend $150 in duct tape before it dies.
