I was stuck on the last thread. I saw many LGF members discussing if Las Vegas was actually terrorism because there needs to be a political angle.

Here is what I posted about why I think it was indeed terrorism.

He certainly had a goal. Killing a lot of Americans at a country western concert. He decided they need to die, just as Roof did. For what reason is not clear.

To me deciding to kill a group of people makes it political. He was making a political decision of death for a group of people he disagreed with for some reason. Just as a judge makes a death sentence.

Even if it is mental, it is still one man deciding for others. We say Trump is mental and he is president. Roof could have been a mental case too…killing people is not normal human activity.

We may never know the details of his thinking, but 600+ people (or more) were affected. That is a small community. He made a decision for those people. That is political, just as a mayor of a small community makes a decision.

i’d suggest the goal of terrorism is that by targeting innocents it will force political change

without these two points, it’s still something else heinous.
could even be a political statement

i think it’s not terrorism.
