re: #107 Belafon

I’m not entirely sure how Democrats were supposed to oppose Republicans attempt to trash the constitution when:
1. The media keeps favoring Republicans on messaging: The number of Republicans vs Democrats that get invited on shows, Fox, the empty Trump podium when Clinton was speaking.
2. An entire segment of the population kept choosing Republicans.

It ties into the Democrats continuing losses after the CRA and VRA legislation. So many people want blacks, Latinos, and gays gone, and women back in the kitchen, including women.

This. We’ve seen what can happen even if you get on the right message, get out there and get in people’s faces, and unite in the right way: they just utterly dismiss your existence and work as normal anyway. We’ve seen it with the media pretending that non-Trump voters simply don’t exist. We’ve seen it with the way they ignore the massive number and volume of marches that have happened, many with pretty damn focused messages. The only time we exist is when we’re cast as agitator and antagonist, which is what they managed to pull off in Charlottesville where, somehow, despite pulling off something that would have BLM pilloried and declared even more of a terrorist organization than they already pretend it is, Naziism and white supremacy became even MORE mainstreamed and protected, because ANTIFAAAA! and “Both sides same thing”ing.

“Better messaging”, “unified messaging” seems to be as much spitting in the wind when it can all just be ignored away, and replaced with caricatures of your “Message” by those who control the fucking megaphones.
