He is unrepentant. As long as he is unrepentant and within the fold of the Catholic Church, it can be viewed as an implicit endorsement of his views, or at the least as another example of the church casting a blind eye, as with all the years of child abuse within the ranks of the clergy. The policy should be zero tolerance.

I don’t agree w/your assessment. The policy of minimizing the effects of sexual abuse of children was horrendous. However, it was certainly not confined to the Church - society at large minimized the effects and the crime - until it stopped minimizing and began responding appropriately. Nevertheless, as similar as it may appear to you, this is not precisely the same sort of issue. I believe the Pope is doing what can be done to ameliorate fast growing anti-Semitism in the West by neutralizing this schismatic movement. I think his actions are ahead of the curve, right and effective. Now I’m going to work.
